Her condition now requires special medical treatment and US$350 is required.

HARARE, Feb 18 (NewsDayLive) - An 11-year-old girl from Gokwe is in desperate need of financial assistance to facilitate urgent surgery to amputate her arm.

Praise Mupande was bitten by a puff-adder while she slept at the family home last month but failed to access treatment. Her arm has deteriotated beyond treatment and medical advice is to get the arm amputated before infection spreads and become life threatening.

When she was bitten on January 21 Praise’s parents resorted to traditional and faith healers because they could not afford transport and hospital fees. As a result her arm became septic to a point where it is difficult to save.

Her condition now requires special medical treatment and US$350 is required.

“This young girl is appealing for help. She needs US$350 to get medication,” her aunt Muchadei Sinyoro said. “She was bitten by a puff adder (chiva).

Cash donations can be sent to Sinyoro's EcoCash number, 0783594693.
