Duo nabbed over counterfeit brake fluid

Counterfeit goods, which sometimes include foodstuffs smuggled into the country, have flooded the local market posing a serious threat to public health and the economy.

HARARE, Feb 12 (NewsDayLive) - Police on Tuesday raided two motor spares shops in the capital and recovered a huge consignment of counterfeit brake fluid and prime bond silicon.

According to police, two suspects were arrested along Bristol Road, Workington,  and at corner Bank Street and Harare Street, after being found selling the fake products.

“Police recovered 593 boxes of counterfeit brake fluid comprising 16,849 units and 88 boxes of prime bond and silicon comprising 8,800 units,” the Zimbabwe Republic Police said in a statement.
