Known for his eclectic blend of musical genres, the illustrious Gen Z artist recently appeared at Organikks Ndizvo in Chisipite, Harare, for an intimate performance in which he previewed several of his songs that he has been working on with local producers Spirit Fingerz, Simba Tagz and Reverb 7.
The event, attended by industry professionals and celebrities alike, showcased Jordan’s unique vocal talent and musical prowess.
“It was an exciting moment to see the obviously talented Jordan experience a 'homecoming' moment and we can't wait to see how the rest of Zimbabwe responds to his collaborations with some of the country's best”, ZiFM Stereo’s station manager Danis Dube said in a comment on the side-lines of the event.
The showcase featured an array of Jordan’s hits, including tracks from his critically acclaimed EP De’Grace (2022). The talented lyricist caught the attention of Point Black Africa a local digital agency and label that has since taken him under their wing.
The label defines his music as ‘a layered, multilingual blend seeping with influences that span across borders and decades and represents a new sound and generation finding novel and creative ways to explore self-expression that is impossible to ignore.’
The Zimbabwean multi-dimensional singer, songwriter and producer is currently based in Botswana. “I have been exposed to a lot of different textures musically, and it helps me to interpret the way I approach music in a very distinct fashion,” he told IndependentXtra in an interview, adding that he was curios and fascinated by different instruments and sounds.
“I have always strived to incorporate different styles and genres with the foundation of soul, Hip Hop and R&B, holding everything together. Those being my primary influences. It’s hard for me to pin point one particular influence because I am very impressionable as a musician, so anything that I’m exposed to sonically, inevitably translates into whatever type of music I am composing at the time, so my surroundings in the immediate moment are what I could say Influence my compositions at the time or whatever it is I’m listening to in that particular moment.”
The audience in attendance was treated to a vibrant mix of R&B, Pop, Alte, Highlife, and Hip Hop, highlighting Jordan’s diverse influences and his ability to blend them into a seamless and immersive experience.

This is his second performance in Harare since his family moved from Masvingo to Botswana during his childhood years. He made his local debut at the Shoko Festival in September last year.
‘He is currently splitting his time between Botswana and South Africa but this showcase in Harare is just the beginning of his “homecoming” efforts as he plans to work with more Zimbabwean artists and establish a following in his home country’, read a statement released by Point Black Africa earlier this week.
The event at Organikks Ndizvo has not only solidified his reputation in Zimbabwe but has also set the stage for his ascent on the regional music scene.
“Zimbabwean music has and will always push boundaries. We have an incredibly rich history and right now we're doing amazing. Mokoomba are touring internationally, I see Bantu Spaceships in Europe. Rymez, Dr Chaii and Bantu are producing platinum selling songs. Nitefreak has one of the biggest Afrotech songs in the world. I have heard ExQ and Jah Prayzah being played all over Botswana. It's really inspiring,” he added.
The artist has carved a household name at Botswana’s trailblazing urban music awards Yarona Fm Music Awards (YAMAS). In 2021 he won in the Best R&B Single Award category for his song ‘Wicked Hours’ where he featured Yaw Bannerman.
Last year at the 8th edition of the same awards hosted at Molapo Showcase Piazza in Gaborone, Jordan was listed in three categories namely the People’s Choice Award, Best Male Single for the track Ginja featuring Hip Hop artist Veezo View. The track was also in the Best RnB Single category. He has also been nominated in the Best Newcomer category.
