The line-up also includes Afro-soul artiste Cingi and mbira group True Bhantu Tribe.
The artistes expressed optimism about performing on the platform and sharing their diverse live music sets with new audiences.
“I am delighted to be part of Zim Folk Fusion this month. Music lovers can expect a ‘mouth-watering’ mbira fusion,” Masike shared with NewsDay Life & Style during an interview.
“We need more platforms for sure, especially platforms showcasing alternative music, so that we have a healthy mix of music varieties,” she added.
Kunonga urged music lovers to come for an ultimate experience of a diverse fusion of local sounds.
“Zim Folk Fusion is a platform that preserves that which we call our heritage,” he said.
“It is always important to preserve and protect it.

“Also, on the same token, we must create platforms that stimulate originality and allow for the creation of new music that people in the future can indulge in.”
Cingi couldn’t hide her excitement: “I am super thrilled to be performing this coming Saturday.
“This platform showcases the rich cultural heritage of Zimbabwean music, and I am honoured to be a part of it.
“Do expect a unique sound, which is a fusion of traditional Zimbabwean folk music with modern twists and flavours. Expect an energetic performance and an absolute cultural exchange.”
The monthly live music concert series celebrates the country’s cultural heritage by blending traditional and contemporary music.
It features a mix of artistes such as Chimurenga musicians, Afro-traditional groups, mbira ensembles and Afro-soul performers.
Since its debut in 2023, it has become a platform for both emerging and established artistes rooted in Zimbabwean traditions.
Artistes who have previously graced the concert include Nyamasvisva ne Mawungira eNharira, Droba and Jangano Tribe, Chester Sax, Taffie Matiure, Tendai Mavengeni and Zowa Kurirai.
“Our goal is to create a space where culture thrives, artists inspire, and audiences connect with the soul of Zimbabwean music,” event organiser, Trymore “Guchi” Jombo said.
“Each edition is a celebration of who we are and where we are going.”
Tickets are priced at US$10 and will be available for purchase at the venue.
