INDEPENDENT music producer, singer and songwriter YungGlow Dzet has released his brand-new extended play (EP), Amapiano Republic 2: Moods & Swings, a four-track collection that captures the essence of different moods and swings.

The EP was released on Friday last week.

"I'm thrilled to have finally released my brand-new EP, Amapiano Republic 2: Moods & Swings. This EP is a reflection of my growth as an artiste and my passion for creating music that resonates with people,” YungGlow Dzet, whose real name is Desire Dube, told NewsDay Life & Style.

“I'm honoured to have collaborated with talented artistes — Tshikiza and Poplee — on this EP. Their unique styles and contributions have elevated the sound and energy of each track.”

He highlighted that the EP is an amapiano-infused exploration of human emotions, with each track crafted to evoke a distinct mood or atmosphere.

“I wanted to create an EP that takes listeners on a journey through different emotions and moods. From the energetic and uplifting to the melancholic and introspective, this EP is a dynamic and immersive listening experience,” the artiste said.

The EP's track list includes Bastraata, Moods & Swings, Inala and Barcadi.

"I'm proud of the work I've put into this EP and I think it's my best work yet,” he said.

As an independent artiste, YungGlow Dzet revealed that he faces challenges such as self-marketing and music promotion.

"It's not easy being an independent artiste, but I'm determined to succeed. I'm passionate about my music and I'm willing to put in the work to make it happen."

"I'm excited to see where this journey takes me. I'm grateful for the support of my fans and the music industry, and I'm looking forward to creating more music that inspires and uplifts people," he added.

He has been nominated for the Most Outstanding DJ Across All Genre Category in the 2024 PRACA Awards, and his track Monate ft Poplee and Maaster Keyz made it to the Amaqhawanentaba Top 10 Chart Show in South Africa earlier this year.
