Lamas Ellz set to thrill fans at I AM BYO event

Lamas Ellz, born Lorrance Melvine Nkomazana, is a musician from Nketa 7 in Bulawayo.

BULAWAYO’S rising music star, Lamas Ellz, is excited about the opportunity to perform at the I AM BYO event, a platform that has already seen him take the stage for two electrifying Fridays.

With the event’s unique episode-based format, Lamas Ellz said he was thrilled to be part of a series that showcased his talent and could not wait to deliver thrilling performances in the coming weeks.

He told NewsDay Life & Style that he is grateful to the community of Nketa 7 for supporting local musicians.

“I would like to give special thanks to Mr Msarurwa for believing in us and providing us with a platform to live our dreams. The current events unveiling in my career are all because of the work and love I sowed in my early years and how I managed to be consistent,” he said.

“I built a strong work relationship with KEAITSE FILMS, cultivating it season after season and I’ve stayed loyal to my supporters in Nketa 7, they, too, have tirelessly supported the brand Lamas Ellz since day one. Nketa 7 will always be home to me."

“As we were putting up our posters around the shopping centre, we received so much love, positive feedback, and encouragement which I feel is what has always fuelled the brand Lamas Ellz. We also got tips on how to improve our movement from people like Nqobizitha Ncube, one of the elders, and most shop owners in the community.”

Lamas Ellz, born Lorrance Melvine Nkomazana, is a musician from Nketa 7 in Bulawayo.

He is known for his collaborations with various artistes, including the late Cal_Vin, Sandra Ndebele, and Mzoe7.

He has released several songs, including Fere Fere, Va Va Voom, Hope and Hustle, Fak’Umoya, Summer Vibe and City of Kings.

His music is a blend of hip-hop and RnB, focusing on the trap subgenre.

Lamas Ellz also revealed that 2024 was a whirlwind of incredible experiences, adding that he was positive that 2025 would be the same.

“I kicked off the year with a bang, releasing visuals for Summer Vibe featuring Sandra Ndebele and Mzoe 7,” he said.

He added: “Sharing the platform with so many talented young people, up-andcoming entrepreneurs and students from around the city at the Bulawayo Hustler’s Summit, where I also composed the theme song, and gave an outstanding performance was truly inspiring.”
