Inaugural wealth and retirement summit slated for next month

CEO Africa Roundtable chief executive officer Kipson Gundani

CEO Africa Roundtable will next month host its inaugural Zimbabwe Wealth and Retirement Summit  in Nyanga.  The April 2 to 4 event will bring together visionary leaders, financial experts and industry influencers to engage in insightful discussions, share innovative strategies and explore the future of wealth generation and retirement planning.

The summit comes at a time when the country does not have a savings cultures amid a volatile exchange rate and inconsistent policies, among other ills.

“We are excited to host the inaugural Wealth and Retirement Summit at Troutbeck Resort,” CEO Africa Roundtable chief executive officer Kipson Gundani said.

“This event is a unique platform for fostering collaboration, sharing knowledge and driving forward the conversation on financial empowerment and retirement security for our executives.”

He said his organisation recognised the importance of not only planning a comfortable life after leaving the workforce but also ensuring a legacy for one’s family.

CEO Africa Roundtable chairperson Oswell Binha said not all executives had the time or expertise required to manage their wealth effectively.

“Wealth management is an important aspect of financial planning for executives. It is common for them to have amassed significant assets over the course of their careers. However, we have realised that not all executives have the time or expertise required to manage their wealth effectively and this has often led to difficulties down the line,” he said.

“We have planned this summit on wealth management and retirement specifically for executives, with a special focus on family-run businesses that also need to look at the going concern of the business through effectively developing a sound succession plan.”

NewsDay Business understands that attendees to the summit will have the opportunity to hear from renowned experts and thought leaders on insights on wealth creation, investment strategies and retirement planning.

“Engaging and interactive sessions that have been designed to offer practical solutions and actionable steps that executives can use to secure their financial independence as they plan for life after formal employment and a prosperous retirement,” Binha said.

“The summit will offer ample networking opportunities for delegates to connect with like-minded professionals, exchange ideas, and build valuable relationships.”

CEO Africa Roundtable has partnered with the National Social Security Authority and convened experts that include Grace Muradzikwa (Commissioner – Insurance & Pensions Commission), Sebastian Zuze ( a leading retirement expert), and Ken Sharpe (WestProp Holdings Ltd chief executive officer).

Others include Lindah Mariwande, general manager Old Mutual Life Assurance Company, DeVere Zimbabwe's private wealth manager , Norman Mudadi and Sandra Musevenzo, director-General Zimbabwe Association of Pension Funds, among others.
