MP hails Chibuku Neshamwari winners

The group secured their fifth victory in the competition, claiming the US$15 000 grand prize.

MUREWA West Member of Parliament Farai Jere has extended his congratulations to the Nyaungwe Arts Ensemble from his constituency for their triumphant win at the 2024 Chibuku Neshamwari Traditional Dance finals.

The group secured their fifth victory in the competition, claiming the US$15 000 grand prize.

Jere commended the group's achievement, highlighting its contribution to promoting arts and culture in the region.

"I extend my congratulations to the group on their achievement. Our constituency's 'Thank you' rallies are a platform to promote arts and culture, and this is a perfect example of that. We are delighted to support local cultural groups,” he said.

He reiterated his commitment to supporting young talent and providing platforms for artistic expression, emphasizing the importance of such initiatives in deterring youth from harmful activities.

“As the Member of Parliament I'm committed to fostering an environment where young people can thrive in the arts. This success story should inspire others to explore their creative talents. We aim to actively engage with and support these young people, providing a positive outlet and deterring them from harmful activities like drug and substance abuse."
