CHICKEN INN rose into ninth position after battling TelOne FC 2-1 in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match played at Ascot stadium in Gweru yesterday.
The Bulawayo-based side rose to 30 points, courtesy of a brace scored by Brian Muza in either halves of the match.
Washington Navaya scored TelOne FC's consolation after 58 minutes, which was his 13th goal of the season.
Muza opened the scoring after 38 minutes and Navaya equalised in the 58th minute. Muza sealed the win with a well-worked goal in the 82nd minute.
And coach Joey Antipas was elated with the win, as he heaved a huge sigh of relief amid the relegation threat. Antipas said: "Yes, a fantastic result for us, playing away from home. If you look at our stats for the season so far.
"We only won one away game and the rest have been painful 1-0 defeat. So it's a welcome to win this game away at TelOne who were playing with confidence after their great win against Highlanders.

"I thought that tactically we were superb. We played a 4-4-2 formation with no wingers and we dominated, especially in the first half.
"And I thought we could have come away with a couple more goals, but we'll take the three points and we'll take the 2-1 win. I thought that the guys were focused and concentrated for this game.
"And to win these types of games when you're playing away from home, you've got to put your body on the line.
“So I'm proud of the boys with a perfect result for us. But we're still in the mix, so we just go game by game and I believe that we'll come up with a strong finish to the season."
His counterpart Herbert Maruwa was disappointed with the win. However he remains adamant that his team has a lot to fight for.
"It’s a bad result. We could have won but we failed to get the result we wanted. We won away but then failed to collect points at home.
"But we are still in it. We still have a chance. There is still 24 points left to play for. We have to move on and hope for better results next time," Maruwa said.
