DISCOVERY Ambulances Services chief executive officer (CEO) and founder David Munowenyu has urged Zimbabweans who are doing well in the diaspora to come and invest in the country saying they have  benefited from sound education system in the country.

Munowenyu who is the Zanu PF Manicaland provincial member made the remarks at Tanganda Primary School in Chipinge where he was conducting their free medical initiatives.

The event was attended by Women Affairs minister Monica Mutsvangwa who was the guest of honour, Zanu PF Manicaland chairperson Tawanda Mukodza, Zanu PF Buhera Central MP Samsom Mutema among others.

"As Discovery Ambulances we are in all provinces of the country but we are not there to bring ambulance services, we have launched what we call the Presidential Emergency Medical Scheme this is what we are seeing (today) people being treated for free and we want to hail our President Emmerson Mnangagwa for his vision," he said.

"We are going in all 10 provinces of the country, we have free medicine and people are being treated freely and we have doctors who are committed to work for this programme without being paid and let's build our country together," he added.

“I challenge other investors of my age to come and invest in Zimbabwe, let's do business in Zimbabwe, we have several people who were educated in Zimbabwe and they are doing well overseas, some are chief executives officers (CEO)’s in countries like South Africa, Dubai, United States of America. Yes you are doing well but what are you doing for your home country, we should not forget where we come from,” he added.

Mutsvangwa was impressed with outreach programme saying they want to join hands with Discovery Ambulances Services.

“Please let's join hands this is a good initiative and we should work together, and we are happy we have such good investors like comrade (David) Munowenyu, he is our son here in Manicaland but his efforts are being felt in the country,” she said.

Mukodza also hailed Discovery Ambulances Services and its Presidential Emergency Fund scheme.
