ZANU PF aspiring candidate for Chinhoyi constituency has been found guilty of illegally occupying gazetted land.
The Zanu PF member, who lost the 2023 parliamentary elections, Thomas Chidzomba, appeared before Chinhoyi Magistrate Franklin Mkwananzi on Wednesday.
Chidzomba was slapped with a fine of US$300.
Should Chidzomba fail to pay the fine, he faces three months imprisonment.
The prosecution established that Chidzomba, along with 18 others, unlawfully occupied a portion of Dundrennam Farm without the permission of the landowner, Brink Bosman or the State.
The court has ordered Chidzomba and his associates to vacate the farm by September 10, 2025.
In a separate matter, Chidzomba was acquitted of charges related to the assault of Bosman and a security guard at the farm.
Chidzomba and others were being represented by Fortune Murisi.
