
FLO Petroleum has lost US$39 931 to its two employees through fraud.
This emerged when Patience Chiringa and Ocean Gurure, a manager and supervisor, respectively at FLO Petrolem, appeared before Harare magistrate Tapiwa Kuhudzai, facing fraud charges.
They were released on US$200 bail each.
State prosecutor Chyvonne Nhira told the court that on April 16, Gurure received a payment of US$5 927 from Rairtrade (Pvt) Ltd, for fuel purchases, but did not bank the money in the company account.
He allegedly shared the it withChiringa.
An audit was carried out by the accounts department, and it was discovered that US$5 927 was missing.
This triggered further audits, which uncovered that a total of US$39 931 was missing.
The accused persons failed to account for the moneys, leading to their arrest.
