Mzansi TV personality Thandekiso hosts CeCe Winans show

A DIVINE encounter is about to unfold in the heart of Harare as the legendary CeCe Winans brings her “More Than This” Tour to Zimbabwe, joined by some of the most powerful female voices and leaders in gospel today.

With the Celebration Centre in Borrowdale set to erupt in worship today, this concert stands out to be a spiritual movement, a gathering of purpose and a celebration of women leading in ministry.

Winans, a multi-award-winning gospel singer, is scheduled to land at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport tonight ahead of the much-anticipated worship concert.

The event has already drawn massive interest, nearing sell-out status.

According to Lyncolin Kapswara, events director at Events by GEC, Winans is arriving fresh from delivering soul-stirring performances in Randburg (August 19-20) and Cape Town (August 22-23), South Africa, where she left audiences uplifted and in awe.

The South African leg featured guest appearances by acclaimed gospel voices HLE and Ntokozo Mbambo and was hosted by the dynamic Rorisang Thandekiso.

Thandekiso, a South African broadcaster, author, singer and speaker, will also anchor the Harare concert as the host.

This marks her second high-profile event in Zimbabwe, following her widely applauded role in the Maverick City Music Kingdom World Tour in 2024.

Her extensive experience in media and music, which ranges from Metro FM and SABC1’s Mzansi Insider to her musical stint with the band MuzArt, has made her a trusted voice in both worship and cultural discourse.

This gathering will be more than a concert, instead it is a celebration of empowered women in faith.

From Winans, whose career continues to break spiritual and cultural barriers, to Thandekiso, whose multifaceted talent continues to inspire young women across Africa, the event is a bold emblem of what women can accomplish in the ministry, media and leadership.

Zimbabwe’s very own Bonnie Deuschle and Janet Manyowa, both trailblazers in their own right, will open the evening with anointing and excellence.

These women, standing tall in their calling, symbolise the strength, grace and spiritual authority of female leadership in gospel music today.

Deuschle and Manyowa, revered as foundational figures in Zimbabwe’s gospel landscape, are expected to prepare hearts with an atmosphere of deep worship before Winans takes to the stage.

From Goodness of God to Believe for It, Winans’ set promises a transformative encounter.

Kapswara emphasised the uniqueness of the midweek gathering.

“Everything is in place for what we believe will be a life-changing time in the presence of the Lord,” he said.

“What makes this event unique is that it falls midweek, giving believers a special opportunity to gather on a Tuesday night and experience something extraordinary.

“With CeCe Winans, Bonnie Deuschle and Janet Manyowa sharing the platform, we are confident this will be one of the most memorable worship encounters Zimbabwe has ever witnessed.”

As the lights dim and voices rise in worship tonight, this gathering will stand as a defining moment, not just for gospel music lovers, but also for women across Africa who see in these artistes a reflection of their own potential and power.

With grace, passion and purpose, Winans and her fellow ministers will not only lift spirits but shift atmospheres too.
