Beyond the mic: The purpose-driven rise of Solusi University’s Panze FM

Chindowa said that seed grew steadily through his time at Solusi University, where he nurtured his craft and began laying the foundation for something great.

FROM the quiet corners of Solusi University to the bold ambition of launching a radio station that uplifts, educates and inspires, Kudakwashe Chindowa is a man on a mission.

A dreamer with purpose, a storyteller at heart and a voice many are beginning to recognise, this Rusape-born visionary is the founder of Panze Podcast and Panze FM, a budding media project rooted in faith, relevance and authentic Zimbabwean voices.

Speaking to NewsDay Life & Style, Chindowa said his journey into radio was not scripted it was sparked by admiration.

“I used to sit and watch other presenters. I was so passionate about it. The way they connected with people, their confidence, their presence, it planted a seed in me,” he said.

Chindowa said that seed grew steadily through his time at Solusi University, where he nurtured his craft and began laying the foundation for something great.

“In 2023, that ‘something great’ was born: Panze Podcast. It was not just a show, it was a platform. A space to host indepth interviews and discussions on topics that matter, featuring insightful guests who aren’t just interesting, but are influential,” he said.

“Names like Gogo Zunidza, Pastor Zunidza, Pastor S Mavezere and SK have all graced his microphone, bringing rich stories and deep perspectives to the table.”

The Solusi University alumnus said it did not stop there.

He is now working tirelessly on the next big leap, registering Panze FM as a full-fledged station.

The goal is to turn the podcast into a powerful radio presence that reaches homes across the nation and beyond.

And while the paperwork and processes are demanding, his faith keeps him grounded.

“Panze FM is not just entertainment, it’s purpose-driven. We carry a Christian perspective, focusing on meaningful, uplifting conversations,” Chindowa said.

He said what made Panze FM different was its roots.

“The show is not afraid to go deep, to talk about faith, real life struggles and stories of resilience. It is for everyone young or old, urban or rural, anyone in need of inspiration or connection,” he said.

“As an ambassador for Successvale Junior School and Science College in Harare’s Stoneridge area, I am also passionate about education and youth empowerment, further anchoring this mission in community impact.”

Chindowa said with dreams as bold as his voice, he is proving that big things start small.

And from the classrooms of Solusi to the airwaves of Zimbabwe, he sees Panze FM being the next big thing powered by faith, driven by passion and led by a young man who believes in the power of talking things out, panze.
