arrest warrant

POLICE have issued an arrest warrant for Harare businessman, George Machanyangwa, who stands accused of stealing trust property.

According to the warrant, Machanyugwa allegedly failed to pay for and return a hired tent, violating the terms of his agreement with the complainant.

According to the warrant, Machanyangwa in 2023 reportedly rented a 20x50-metre tent from the complainant at a rate of US$1,200 per event but did not make payment.

He also failed to return the tent as agreed.

The tent is valued at US$25,000, and nothing has been recovered.

Police confirmed that efforts to locate Machanyangwa have been unsuccessful.

"In the State’s name, you are hereby commanded to apprehend the accused upon sight and bring him before a Magistrate’s Court to answer to these charges and be dealt with according to the law," the warrant stated.
