The Zifa normalisation committee confirmed the friendly match via a social media post on Tuesday morning.

The Warriors will play Botswana in an international friendly match at the National Sports Stadium as part of preparations for the 2026 Fifa World Cup qualifiers next month.

Zimbabwe will take on Rwanda in their first Group C match of the qualifiers before they clash with Nigeria on November 13 and 21 respectively.

They are grouped with Rwanda, Nigeria, South Africa, Benin and Lesotho in the qualifiers.

The Zifa normalisation committee confirmed the friendly match via a social media post on Tuesday morning .

"A Warriors squad made up of both local and foreign based players is scheduled to play Botswana in an international friendly on Saturday 14 October 2023 at the National Sports Stadium in Harare.

The match kicks off at 15:00 hours," Zifa said.

Players are expected to start trooping into camp on Wednesday including foreign based players.

A squad of local based players took on Botswana recently in an invitational match in Francistown and they lost in a penalty shoot-out after a 1-1 draw in regulation time.
