BOTTOM-PLACED Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Bulawayo City have parted ways with coach Philani “Beefy” Ncube following a string of poor results that has seen the club wallow in the relegation zone since the start of the season.
The move was always coming after the coach indicated he would make a decision about his future after 24 hours after his side lost 1-0 to city neighbours Bulawayo Chiefs at Barbourfields Stadium on Saturday.
Lovemore Dube, Bulawayo City FC marketing and public relations officer has confirmed the position saying Mduduzi Mpofu and Johannes Ngodzo take charge of the team in the interim.
Beefy met with the club executive this morning where both parties resolved to part ways.
“The club executive met in the morning with the coach and decided to disengage. He has been a loyal and committed member of the club and we will always be indebted to him for all the hard work he put in, he will always be part of the BCFC.
We wish him the best in his next football job. In the meantime Mduduzi Mpofu and Johannes Ngodzo will be in charge until further notice,” Dube said.
However Mpofu and Ngodzo fall short of the Zifa Caf A requirements to preside over a club in the top league, which could be a challenge for Bulawayo City.
