HIGHLANDERS have once again suspended chief executive officer Denzil Mnkandla over the same allegations that previously saw him sent on leave following claims the club was prejudiced of about US$20 000 during a pre-season training camp in Botswana.
Mnkandla was initially suspended before being reinstated in April after his legal representatives challenged the club over what they argued were procedural irregularities in the disciplinary process.
A source close to developments at the club confirmed that the former FC Platinum general manager had been served with a fresh suspension letter.
"He was served with his suspension on Monday and the suspension stems from the same allegations as before," the source said.
Highlanders chairman Kenneth Mhlophe could not be reached for comment.
Another source said executive committee member Kindman Ndlovu has been appointed acting chief executive officer pending the finalisation of Mnkandla's disciplinary case.
Ndlovu has previously held the acting chief executive officer's position following the resignation of former CEO Brian Moyo, who was later convicted of fraud involving player transfers.
Moyo had taken over from the late Sihlangu Dlodlo before leaving the club.
