ALL roads lead to the City of Kings and Queens as the curtain comes down on the Carling Black Label National Pool Championship with the final slated for Bulawayo's ZITF Grounds Hall tomorrow.
It has been an immense road to the final since May 31 with regional qualifiers taking place across all the country's 10 provinces. Only the crema de la crema who excelled in these regionals have a shot at the coveted prize when the games roar to life in the morning.
"This highly anticipated event promises to be a spectacular showcase of sportsmanship and talent, featuring 74 men and 74 women from all around the country, competing fiercely in their respective categories," said Kundai Mawema, Delta Beverages marketing manager Lager beer.
"This is not just a tournament; it’s a celebration of hard work, dedication, and a shared passion for the game."
The top prize is $2,500 and a pool table, with the first runner-up pocketing $1,500, while third and fourth place winners will receive $1,000 and $500, respectively.
The event promises to be an exciting spectacle, with top DJs from Bulawayo, including DJ Tino, DJ Mateu, and DJ Papito, keeping the fans entertained. The Travellers Band and DJ Nospa will officially bring the curtains down with a live performance.
Delta Corporation, the company behind the event, is involved in the brewing of lager and traditional beer and the bottling of soft drinks under license from the Coca-Cola Company under the Delta Beverages Company. Delta Beverages, a division of Delta Corporation, is the country's leading brewer with more than 15 beer brands and over 4,000 employees across the country.
