THE Zimbabwe Football Association (Zifa) has announced the successful implementation of the Fifa Football for Schools (F4S) Project in the Midlands province this past week, bringing vital football equipment to schools in some of the region’s most underserved communities.
The initiative, designed to bolster grassroots football development, saw consignments of footballs distributed to schools across seven districts: Gokwe, Kwekwe, Mvuma, Gweru, Shurugwi, Mberengwa and Zvishavane.
The distribution aims to significantly increase access to football for young people, fostering emerging talent and promoting social inclusion through the power of sport.
According to Zifa, the Football for Schools project is a cornerstone of the association’s broader strategy to expand football development throughout Zimbabwe, with a particular focus on hard-to-reach and marginalised areas.
By equipping schools with essential resources, Zifa is actively working to establish a more inclusive and dynamic football ecosystem nationwide.
In their statement, Zifa expressed profound gratitude to Fifa for its consistent support of Zimbabwean football.
The association reaffirmed its dedication to nurturing grassroots football development, emphasising the long-term benefits of such initiatives for the nation’s youth and the future of the sport.
The campaign underscores Zifa’s commitment to making football accessible to all aspiring young athletes, regardless of their location or economic background.
