Bosso to address goals dearth

The coach yesterday admitted scoring has been a challenge, but they have been working flat out on that aspect and are looking forward to goals on Sunday.

HIGHLANDERS are looking forward to finding their scoring formulae when they return home to host Green Fuel in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match at Barbourfields Stadium (BF) on Sunday.

After the goalless draw to Chicken Inn at BF last month, the game that led to coach Kelvin Kaindu’s sacking, the Bulawayo giants are yet to win a game and are yet to find the net even after Try Ncube took over on an interim basis.

Kaindu was fired after winning only one match against Manica diamonds, with two defeats to Herentals and Simba Bhora at BF and another loss to ZPC Kariba on the road, a draw to FC Platinum at Emagumeni and another to Dynamos at Rufaro.

Ncube is yet to do any justice to Kaindu’s dismissal with a 1-0 defeat to league pacesetters MWOS FC at BF and a goalless draw to lowly Kwekwe United at Bata Stadium last weekend.

The coach yesterday admitted scoring has been a challenge, but they have been working flat out on that aspect and are looking forward to goals on Sunday.

“The mood in the camp is good, it’s very positive. Players are really putting a shift in training. Everyone wants to be considered for selection,” Ncube said.

“We are looking forward to doing well on Sunday. We have failed to score in the past three games, but we are working hard to rectify that.

“We are hoping that come Sunday, we are going to score because we are really working a lot with the forwards and midfielders going forward.”

Bosso sit on position nine on the log table with 24 points and take on Green Fuel, who also elevated coach Taurayi Mangwiro and brought back Rodwell Dhlakama.

Mangwiro was relieved of his duties following a 5-1 routing by Triangle, but Dhlakama is also yet to win a match since his arrival, playing a goalless draw with Caps United at Rufaro and a home loss to former champions Ngezi Platinum Stars.
