HERENTALS College FC were left ruing a missed penalty oppurtunity after settling for a 0-0 draw with TelOne FC in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match played at Ascot Stadium yesterday.

This turned out to be a cagey affair until the 12th minute when Herentals were awarded a penalty after Tafadzwa Jaravani handled the ball in the box. However they failed to convert, as goalkeeper Criss Mverechena produced a brilliant save to keep The Students at bay.

On 20th minute, Panashe Mutasa forced an acrobatic save from Takunda Takarinda. There was nothing much to write home about in the second half as much action was in the midfield.

TelOne gaffer Herbert Maruwa admitted Herentals College FC were a thorn in the flesh throughout the match.

"It wasn't an easy game for us, maybe for both teams. They came here with a game plan, managed to get an early goal, managed to hold them, they even got a penalty and they managed to defend. I'm happy with the result going forward," Maruwa said.

"We just need to improve the team, but I'm happy with the point gained. What could be the cause or theLike I'm saying, games are not easy, especially at this stage of the season. Every team is playing for a reason. Some are fighting for relegation, some are fighting for championships, some are fighting to maintain their position."

His counterpart Paul Benza was satisfied withe the draw. He said: " In the game with a lot of intensity, but at the end of the day, collecting a point away is good for us, though we missed that penalty, but generally I'm happy with the performance.

"Sometimes things do not go our way, and getting a point is better than losing at the end. So, getting that one point for us is crucial, and we hope that we are going to start converting and then win games. But for us, we are not worried, getting a point is good."
