THE Botswana Football Association is reportedly considering approaching Zimbabwean defender Tatenda Gora to represent their country ahead of the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) finals.
Gora enjoyed a dream debut season in Botswana, where he helped Gaborone United secure the league title.
He also scooped the Defender of the Year accolade, after scoring five goals and contributing to 13 clean sheets.
Botswana is one of the seven countries from the Cosafa Region to qualify for the 2025 Afcon finals, alongside Zimbabwe, South Africa, Zambia, Mozambique, Angola and Comoros.
The 26-year-old was notably overlooked by Warriors coach Michael Nees for the Cosafa Cup squad, as well as the team that represented the country in friendly matches against Burkina Faso and Niger, earlier this month.
A source informed this publication that the idea was informally discussed during and after the 2024/25 Botswana FNB Premiership awards last month.
