Police road race rescheduled to May 3

Ngawagare said the event aims to promote community engagement, health and wellness while fostering a stronger relationship between the police and the public.

THE Zimbabwe Republic Police has announced the rescheduling of the Police Commissioner-General Road Race, initially postponed from March 29, to a new date, of May 3, 2025.

The event will still take place at Mkoba Teachers College in Gweru.

In a Press statement, Assistant Inspector Fungai Ngawagare confirmed the new date.

“The Zimbabwe Republic Police would like to inform the general public, stakeholders and participants that the Commissioner-General of Police Road Race, initially scheduled for March 29, 2025, which was postponed has been re-scheduled.

“After careful consideration, we have re-scheduled the event for May 3. The venue remains Mkoba Teachers College Gweru,” the statement read.

Ngawagare said the event aims to promote community engagement, health and wellness while fostering a stronger relationship between the police and the public.

It will feature 5km, 10km and 21km races with various age groups, including juniors, tertiary, veterans, open, masters, wheelchairs and grandmasters.
