Star-studded Hardrock FC picked up three points after beating ZRP Gwanda 2-0 at Phelandaba Stadium on Sunday.

FORMER PSL clubs Chapungu and Sheasham resumed their bid for promotion in the Zifa Central Region Soccer League on a high note after winning their respective matches on an identical 5-0 scoreline.

The two Gweru-based sides made an early statement of intent after beating Bishopstone and Matobo FC respectively. Chapungu put up a performance full of energy and determination to humiliate Bishopstone FC at Ascot Stadium on Sunday.

Allen Tavariswa hit a brace as the airmen recorded the emphatic win. Similarly, Sheasham, now under the tutelage of Prince Matore, thumped league newbies 5-0 at Minda High School grounds.

West Nicholson beat Gokwe North 1-0, while armyside Tongogara settled for a 1-1 draw with Blanket Mine at home. Another league newbie, Gwanda Pirates, started their life in the Central Region on a high note after edging MSU FC 1-0 at the Midlands State University grounds.

Meanwhile, the Zvishavane derby between Shabanie Mine FC and FC Platinum Under 19 ended in a goalless draw at Maglas Stadium.
