4May boost for Warriors

THE Warriors have received a massive boost ahead of their 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Benin and Nigeria after Zifa yesterday signed a deal with top men's formal clothing outlet 4May International to dress the team for the next three years.

It is not the first time that 4May are clothing the senior men's national team after they adorned the Warriors ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of National finals.

They are also  the official formal wear partner for the men's cricket team.

The new partnership was concluded during a Press conference at the Zifa offices in Harare yesterday morning.

“This is not my first time working with Zifa. We worked with them back in 2019, so I think this is more of a callback to something that we already started with them. And especially with the new executive and the new board, it is just a great partnership at the right time that they decided that they would love to work with us. And we are always open to working with them again. And also with the new coach, I think it's just the new season,” 4May International chief executive officer Ellcy Chimedza said.

“So, this new partnership has come with a three-year tenure, until maybe we renew again for a longer period. So, that is one of the contract terms of this new partnership. Alongside with us sponsoring the formal wear that they wear to all of their key matches, key fixtures,” she said.

The partnership, which is effective from March 1 2025 to December 31, will only cover the men's national team.

As part of this partnership, 4May International will provide formal wear, including suits, shirts and shoes for a 23-member team, coaching staff, support personnel and executive members.

These will be custom-tailored outfits ensuring a perfect fit for all recipients to be timely delivered ahead of key fixtures, ensuring a polished and professional appearance.

Zifa marketing committee chairperson, Kudzai Kadzombe, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership.

“This partnership with 4May International is a testament to our vision of elevating Zimbabwean football to international standards. Our players and technical team deserve to look as professional as they perform and with this agreement, we are ensuring that they exude confidence and pride whenever they represent the nation. We are delighted to welcome 4May International into the Zifa family,” she said.

Last week, the Zifa board led by Nqobile Magwizi signed partnerships with Kyros Sports and PD House to drive grassroots development and also enhance the organisation's digital presence.

Over the weekend, Magwizi signed an agreement with his Moroccan counterpart which will see exchange programmes between Zifa and the Royal Moroccan Football Federation.

Warriors coach Michael Nees who was part of the signing ceremony also spoke highly of the new arrangement.

“This co-operation is a sign of increased professionalisation of our football and it shows that the corporate world is behind the Warriors, which is good. This must be a good partnership because when I asked the players about their sizes, they never responded to me that fast. I can tell you that. I trust the executive that this is a good partnership,” he said.

Meanwhile, Nees and his technical team will tomorrow announce the Warriors’ squad for the matches against Benin and Nigeria.
