
RISING golfer Keegan Shutt continued with his memorable year after producing a dominant display to win the Julius Robinson Trophy by six strokes with a 10-under par 206 score at Wingate Park Golf Course in Harare on Sunday.
Shutt shot rounds of 72 67 and 67 for his first win of the season on the local scene after doing well in international events.
Michael Wallace, who also had a good outing, carded 70 74 and 68 to finish the tournament on a 4-under par total in second place while defending champion and home favourite Shepard Chiwaya settled for third place on 3-under after shooting 71, 69 and 73.
There was a three-way tie for the fourth position after Shiji Li, Ryan Lang and Jaison Jackson finished on level par for the tournament.
In the ladies' competition, 15-year-old Miriam Masiya emerged victorious with a score of 224 while Tracy Humbira was second with a score of 239.
The team event saw the Brooke taking the Julius Robinson Trophy crown, while Royal Harare Golf Club came second.
A total of 120 golfers took part in the event.
Shutt has done well so far this year after he finished fourth at Orange Bowl in the US at the start of the year before taking a runner-up place at the Africa Amateur Championship in South Africa last month.

The Julius Robinson Trophy is the second event on the local amateur scene after the Dugmore which was won by Tanaka Chatora and Batsirai Tilowakuti in the men’s and women’s categories, respectively.
