FBC boost FC Platinum’s bank balance

The Zvishavane-based side, who are seeking to reclaim their dominance in the topflight, yesterday received a sponsorship deal of US$150 000 per season for the next two years from the financial services organisation.

FC PLATINUM have received a huge shot in the arm from FBC Holdings ahead of the 2025 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season.

The Zvishavane-based side, who are seeking to reclaim their dominance in the topflight, yesterday received a sponsorship deal of US$150 000 per season for the next two years from the financial services organisation.

Having failed to land the league title in the last two seasons, the sponsorship package will go a long way in boosting them in the forthcoming season.

FBC Holdings head of investor relations and communications Priscilla Sadomba said they are committed to helping FC Platinum as they embark on their bid to reclaim the PSL title.

“With our longstanding presence in Zvishavane, we recognise the significant role that FC Platinum, as a local football club, plays in the community,” she said.

“Given the team’s foundation in Zvishavane, we believe it is both fitting and strategic to support the team’s growth.

“In this regard, we are pleased to announce that FBC Holdings sponsored US$150 000 to FC Platinum for the 2025-2026 soccer season, as part of our corporate social investment initiatives.”

Added Sadomba: “This sponsorship underscores our dedication to fostering local talent and promoting the spirit of sportsmanship. It also reflects our broader goal of contributing to the development and empowerment of the Zvishavane community.

“Furthermore, it is encouraging to note that the sponsorship aligns with our group’s sustainability thrust, which aims to improve the social, environmental, and financial well-being of the communities we serve.”

Meanwhile, FC Platinum also unveiled their new players headlined by two former Nyasa Big Bullets players Nickson Nyasulu and Precious Phiri, both from Malawi.

Vincent Nyanguli, formerly with another Malawi outfit, Might Wanderers, has also joined the club.

In addition, the platinum miners roped in the services of Cory Black and Thubelihle Jubane, formerly with Central Region Soccer League team Blanket Mine and Sheasham, respectively.

Jubane spent last season on loan at Manica Diamonds.
