WE might not like Michael Nees or Michael Nuus, whatever his name is, but the truth is that our Warriors seem to be on the right path under his guidance.
They might not have won their two matches under Nees but there were a lot of positive indications that given time together, the Warriors could be a strong force, once again.
With a bit of accuracy, the Zimbabwean team could have beaten the so called Indomitable Lions of Cameroon although against Kenya, they were not all that cohesive.
What is important, though, is that the Warriors did not lose and are looking forward to the upcoming matches with optimism and some form of confidence.
Even those who were critical of Nees after he persuaded Khama Billiat to return are singing another tune after the Yadah midfielder turned on the style in both matches.
The 34-year-old proved that he is the rock where the Warriors should be built around with those deft touches, sideway dribbles, and defence splitting passes.
Surely, Billiat needs that free role but then Zimbabwe needs a stronger and more mobile defensive link man to give Billiat that cover when he moves forward.
Perhaps, Marvelous Nakamba would be back to full fitness when the Warriors return to action in back-to-back matches against Namibia on October 11 and October 15.

These are matches which will set the tone for the remainder of the Warriors journey and the Zimbabwean team needs to pick up all the six points on offer to boost their campaign.
Cameroon and Kenya will cancel each other and maximum points for the Warriors could see them go top of the table or in the second qualifying position.
Surely, the defence was perfect and what Nees now needs to do is to emphasise the need to go forward and multiply the goals and also make the right choice of strikers.
He did not get the results he needed from Young Africans' Prince Dube and what the coach should do is to reshuffle his striking force a bit and give others a chance.
There are a lot of strikers who can be given a chance, Tino Kadewere, Tawanda Chirewa, William Manhondo, Tymon Machope, and maybe, we should also ask what happened to Michael Tapera.
The younger Tapera was a guarantee of goals at the Cosafa Cup where he showed a lot of promise but has surprisingly been ignored in the new set up.
Surely, the coach cannot pick everyone on our lips but he should certainly have a look at his strike force if he needs to maintain or increase the friends he has won so far.
We cannot afford to drop even a single point against the Brave Warriors of Namibia or else our Afcon 2025 road could be harder than we imagined.
