TELONE FC coach Herbert Maruwa is hoping to find solace in the 2024 Chibuku Super Cup, where they face Arenel Movers in a preliminary round tie at Mandava Stadium tomorrow.
The two sides clash in a mid-day kick-off before Hwange and Chegutu Pirates collide in the other preliminary round contest.
TelOne are embroiled in a bruising battle to remain afloat in the topflight league and currently sit on 15th position on the league table.
The Wi-Fi Boys are winless in their last six matches, a run that has left Maruwa a worried man.
Under Maruwa, they have picked one win when they beat Arenel Movers 2-1 on June 22.
On Sunday, they failed to account for the scalp of fellow strugglers Hwange to settle for a share of points.
For Maruwa, the cup competition presents a platform for the Gweru-based side to build some confidence.
“This is a different match all together and we have to push so that we get the confidence we need,” he said.

“Right now, I am worried about the decision-making of some of my players. I just hope they will change in the mid-week game.
“It is still game on and I hope we will not be left to do it the hard way. All focus is on winning our match against Arenel.”
The winner between TelOne and Arenel Movers will take on FC Platinum in the first round of the cup competition.
In another preliminary round match, Chegutu Pirates and Hwange will square off at 3pm at the same venue.
The winner will face Manica Diamonds in the first round.
