Arenel Movers maintained their unbeaten start to the season after playing yet another goalless draw against Chicken Inn at Luveve Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Arenel, who held defending champions Ngezi Platinum last week, frustrated the Gamecocks with good organisation at the back which meant that they collected their second point of the season.
The Gamecocks came into the match as favourites after last week's morale boosting 1-0 victory over Caps United in Gweru but they were let down by poor finishing from their forwards.
The first half was a cagey affair. Chances were few and far between with Chicken Inn enjoying a lion's share of ball possession. George Majika's speculative effort in the first minute was easily dealt with by Arenel goalkeeper Aaron Ngwenya.
Ngwenya almost gifted the Gamecocks with an opener in the 31st minute after Ngwenya miscued his clearance from a back pass. Xolani Ndlovu collected the ball on the touchline but failed to pick his spot from an acute angle with the goal unguarded.
Arenel fashioned an attack at the start of the second half but livewire Johannne Sibanda hurried his effort when he had acres of space in front of him.

A minute later, striker Brighton Makopa produced what should be a top contender for the miss of the season when he failed to bury a Joseph Tulani cut back, with Ngwenya out of the picture, much to the disappointment of the Gamecocks technical team.
Chicken Inn made a number of changes upfront with hopes of getting a winner but Arenel remained resolute at the back as they left Kufandada the only man upfront whilst the rest of the team played in their own half.
Tulani almost stole it for Chicken Inn on the stroke of full time but his shot was blocked by Arthur Ndlovu.
Chicken Inn assistant coach Tostao Kwashi lamented the missed opportunities.
"It was a tale of missed chances, lots of crosses from the wide men. We couldn't execute the chances we created, on a good day we could have had three or four goals. We dominated possession but we couldn't turn it into goals," said Kwashi.
Arenel coach Farai Tawachera said that he is concerned about their failure to get goals.
"When we were going forward the same mistake of failing to join the top man was evident and at the end of the day they applied more pressure on us but it didn't result in anything. We had moments where we could have killed them but I am worried about our conversation rate," said Tawachera.
