The National Arts Merit Award (NAMA) successfully staged the fourth edition of their annual golf day at Bulawayo golf club last week. It was the first time the event was being held in any other city other than Harare since its inception in 2020.
The golf day was organised by the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe (NACZ) and Jacaranda Culture and Media Corporation (JCMC); and it served as a platform where artistes from various genres and disciplines get an opportunity to interact and market their works to potential investors or employers on the golf course.
In the past editions artists and personalities such as Nutty -O, Anita Jaxson, Samantha Musa (MisRed), Andile Musambasi, Russel Chiradza,
Larry Kwirirayi, Chenesai Mangoma, Isaac Wiscot, Chiedza Kurwakumire, Shamiso Quang, Barry Manandi, and Mike Madoda, to name a few, taken part. This time around, veteran actor Stephen Chigorimbo who is famous for his role in the local soapie Studio 263 as Baba Huni was conspicuous by his presence.
Some of the sponsors who helped make the event a success include Skyz Metro, Dariro Mode, Culture Fund and the European Union, M&G Stationery, ZLG, Dendairy, Cairns Foods and Wild Africa Travel & Tours.
The winner of the fourth edition of the event was Mr. Chivonivoni.
