CHICKEN Inn conceded a last-minute goal to settle for a draw with Green Fuel at Luveve Stadium yesterday.

Malvin Hwata tapped home a Xolani Ndlovu assist to give his side a lead in the second half. The goal was his ninth of the season.

The home side looked like they would successfully defend the narrow lead, but substitute Naison Takawira had thefinal say when he equalised with a dipping shot from outside the penalty area.

The GameCocks are now on 46 points after the draw which was their 15th this season, leaving coach Prince Matore disappointed.

“It’s very disappointing," Matore said. "I thought we had done enough to collect maximum points, but we slept on duty and we (were) punished in the last minute,” Matore said.

The point was a huge gain for Green Fuel who moved to 39 points, and might need one more from the remaining three matches to guarantee their safety.

Coach Rodwell Dhlakama was a happy man at the final whistle.

“It's a massive point considering where we are sitting in the relegation zone. We needed this. We expected a win or a draw from this to add something to our target. It’s not going to be easy with 11 teams in the relegation equation,” Dhlakama said.
