DYNAMOS coach Herbert Maruwa has warned his rejuvenated side to guard against complacency or risk watching their improving season disintegrate once again.
Having made a poor start to the season, it appears the Harare giants have finally found the winning formula.
They are unbeaten in their last four matches, winning three and sharing spoils with the defending champions FC Platinum.
That good run of form has seen them climb to fourth on the log with 25 points, five behind leaders Highlanders with two games to the halfway stage of the season.
Maruwa, whose side travels to Triangle to take on struggling Green Fuel tomorrow, feels the players are beginning to understand his philosophy, but admits there is still some work to do before they can be considered a finished product.
“We still have a long way to go but gradually the team is coming OK. We need to keep on telling the guys to keep focussed, it's very key,” Maruwa told journalists during a pre-match Press conference yesterday.
He said the recent wins have put his side in good space, but wants the players to keep their feet on the ground.
“Mentally, we need to be fit. My players tend to relax whenever they are playing the so-called small teams, but in football there are no small teams. We play in the same league, so we are treating the match as a tough fixture.

“Preparations have gone well. It’s a tricky fixture. It’s not going to be an easy game playing against a team in relegation zone, so they want to win this game. We have to make sure we are prepared for us to get a positive result.”
Dynamos have scored seven goals in the last four matches and Maruwa is excited how his strikers have improved. Strikers Elton Chikona and Eli Ilunga, who have been trusted with goal-scoring duties in the last few matches have repaid the coaches’ faith by scoring two goals each in the last four matches.
“Hardwork pays, the guys are working hard in training and goals are coming. Hopefully the strikers will continue with their scoring form,” Maruwa added.
He also spoke about Khama Billiat, and welcomed the possibility of working with the former Warriors player in the event that Dynamos manage to lure him to the club.
The winger is a free agent after the expiry of his contract with Kaizer Chiefs at the end of June.
He has been linked with a number of clubs in South Africa, Europe and Saudi Arabia.
But Dynamos chairperson Moses Maunganidze said his club is also considering signing on the hugely-talented player.
“If he is available, we can take him in,” said Maruwa in a teasing response when asked about the possibility of signing Billiat.
