Allied Timbers accused Tiengane of engaging in unauthorised activities such as the theft of pine logs and cited results of an investigation report released on April 29 this year.
The report said Tiengane had stolen a total volume of 192.21 cubic meters of pine logs between November 29, 2023, a total volume of 24.827 cubic metres was not recorded for drawdown on the purchased logs invoice register.
“This constitutes a clear violation of the terms and conditions outlined in the contract,” the letter added.
“The termination letter also said there were identified discrepancies between the tally workbook and purchased logs register.
“The under-declaration and un-recorded volumes directly contravene the Allied Timber Zimbabwe standard operating procedures and such actions are unacceptable and detrimental to the business between our companies.”
Allied Timbers also indicated that they were terminating the contract given the severity of the actions and the breach of trust.
“Therefore, we advise that the contract agreement between ourselves have been terminated with immediate effect,” the letter added.
“All obligations and responsibilities under the contract are hereby null and void.”
