Convict found with dagga

Plumtree magistrate Joshua Nembaware convicted Mxolisi Ncube (20) of Mlotshana village under the Criminal Law Act for unlawful drug possession. 

A PLUMTREE man was found with 15 grammes of dagga following his arrest for assault.

Moyo was sentenced to 12 months of jail.

Six months of the sentence were suspended for five years, provided Ncube does not reoffend.

He will serve an effective six-month term. 

Prosecutor Sheila Nyathi said on July 16, police arrested Ncube for assault and found six dagga sachets in his bag.

The drugs, weighed with a Zimpost postmaster’s assistance, totalled 15 grammes. 

Ncube risks imprisonment without a fine option if convicted again.
