THE Zimbabwe Miners Federation (ZMF) has called all artisanal and small-scale miners to engage registered mine surveyors promptly to avoid disruptions to their operations.
The call was made during the signing ceremony of a partnership between the Zimbabwe Miners Federation (ZMF) and Association of Mine Surveyors of Zimbabwe (AMSZ) yesterday.
“This collaboration is a direct response to the government’s new mandate requiring all mining title holders to submit accurate surveyed coordinates for their claims, effective 01 July 2025, as part of the Mining Cadastre Information Management System — a critical step in formalising Zimbabwe’s Artisanal and Small-Scale Mining (ASM) sector,” ZMF said in a statement yesterday
“ZMF and AMSZ stand united in supporting this progressive initiative by the Ministry of Mines and Mining Development, which aims to formalise the sector, reduce disputes and align Zimbabwe’s mining standards with regional and international best practices.”
ZMF said the partnership represents a significant milestone in bringing transparency and professionalism to the ASM sector.
The parties agreed to develop a standardised tariff schedule for surveying services, tailored to typical claim sizes.
This measure will prevent overcharging and ensure affordability for small-scale miners.
The AMSZ said: “Our partnership with the ZMF supports access for the ASM to credible mining surveying services which they critically need for compliance and for the formalisation process.”
