A 26-YEAR-OLD man from Plumtree is in trouble after he allegedly stole 25 kilogrammes of gold ore from his employer.

The matter came to light at the Plumtree magistrates’ courts where Freeman Sisiya appeared before magistrate Joshua Nembaware.

He was granted $20 bail and remanded to June 2.

Prosecutor Selestine Madziwa alleged that on May 2 this year around 0200 hours, Sisiya advised his colleague Trust Nyoni that he wanted to steal some gold ore from Lonestar mine in Matobo.

The accused went on to switch off electricity to avoid CCTV from capturing him on video as he stole the gold ore.

A police report was filed leading to his arrest.
