A 29-year-old Plumtree man has landed himself in trouble after he axed his brother following a misunderstanding.
David Moyo was sentenced to two years behind bars by Plumtree magistrate Joshua Nembaware.
Nembaware suspended six months on condition of good behaviour.
Prosecutor Selestine Madziwa told the court that on March 2 the convict had a misunderstanding with his brother Thabani Moyo(37) as he accused him of reporting him to the police over an undisclosed matter.
He picked an axe, charged towards his brother and assaulted him with it.
He sustained broken ribs.
He was rushed to hospital by his relatives.
A police report was made leading to his arrest.
