Hwange brothers fatally axe grandfather, set body alight

The convicts Events Ncube (31) and Keylop Ncube (22) were found guilty at a High Court sitting in Hwange in connection with the murder of Sibusisiwe Dube (89).

TWO brothers from Hwange, Matabeleland North province, have been sentenced to 25 years in jail after they axed their grandfather to death and burnt his body beyond recognition.

The convicts Events Ncube (31) and Keylop Ncube (22) were found guilty at a High Court sitting in Hwange in connection with the murder of Sibusisiwe Dube (89).

The incident occurred on April 1, 2024 after a beer drink at Maphosa business centre.

The now-deceased was in the company of Tapson Munsaka and they were sharing beer, the court heard.

The accused persons were also drinking beer at the business centre.

Dube left the business centre at 7pm.

The two followed him and attacked him with an axe on the head over an undisclosed matter.

They ferried Dube’s body from the scene using a scotch cart.

They placed his body in a kitchen hut and set it on fire.

Dube’s body was burnt beyond recognition.
