SPECIAL adviser to President Emmerson Mnangagwa Paul Tungwarara has said he will engage his principal over the bad state of Bulawayo-Victoria Falls Highway.
He made the remarks on Thursday last week during the launch of the presidential borehole and housing scheme in Binga district.
Tungwarara said he would make it a point that the President is informed of the state of Victoria Falls road.
“With all that is being done which is roads that are being refurbished but I saw this one on my way here and it is very bad. I will make sure to speak to the President about it tomorrow that we want this road fixed,” he said.
Tungwarara said he would also engage Mnangagwa over the prioritisation of the rehabilitation of the Bulawayo-Victoria Falls Road.
The government in October was reported to have agreed with various partners to upgrade the Beitbridge-Bulawayo-Victoria Falls Road.
The government announced plans for immediate reconstruction of the above-mentioned highway as part of efforts to facilitate a quick return to the smooth flow of traffic which had been hampered by the poor state of the road.
