A BULAWAYO man allegedly hanged himself after he was exposed for impregnating his 18-year-old cousin sister.
Bulawayo acting spokesperson, Inspector Nomalanga Msebele, identified the deceased as Meluleki Sibanda from Cowdray Park.
"On February 21, 2025 at around 8pm, the Sibanda's father confronted Sibanda on the allegations that he had impregnated his cousin sister and they promised to settle the matter with other family members and the police," Msebele said.
"On the same day at around 10pm, the family retired to bed.
“Early in the morning at around 6am, the deceased’s father woke up, got outside the house and discovered that Sibanda was hanging from a mango tree near their gate and was already dead."
His body was conveyed to Mpilo Hospital mortuary for post mortem examination.
Msebele urged parents and guardians to cautiously deal with such serious issues without inducing fear to the perpetrators so as to avoid such incidents.
