TWO men appeared at the Harare Magistrates Courts on Tuesday facing a charge of robbing a principal immigration officer stationed at Beitbridge Boarder Post.
Tapfumanei Russell Murozi (39) and Ashley Muchemwa (29) appeared before magistrate Sharon Rakafa, who remanded them in custody to December 10 for bail application.
The complainant is Tawanda Brian Dzvoti (38), employed by the Department of Immigration as the principal immigration officer.
Appearing for the prosecution, Takudzwa Mutyavaviri said on November 26, the armed suspects forced entry to Dzvoti’s house and demanded money.
They allegedly dragged Dzvoti’s wife out of the house, indecently harassed her threatening her with horrendons violence.
Dzvoti’s wife screamed and the duo dragged her back into the house.
However, her neighbours heard the screams and alerted others.
The alleged robbers stole US$2 820 which was in Dzvoti’s wallet and other valuables in the house.

They also stole US$200 which was in Dzvoti’s wife’s make-up kit.
The robbers were apprehended by neighbours before they could flee.
