We obtained court order to evict Chamisa: Tshabangu

Local
Tshabangu said their thrust was to move towards internal democracy, adding that they were very clear on the issue of creating employment in the country.

SELF-APPOINTED Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) interim secretary-general Sengezo Tshabangu has revealed that they obtained a court order to evict a rival faction from their offices in Bulawayo.

Tshabangu’s remarks come in the wake of his party's eviction from the same offices by the MDC led by Douglas Mwonzora which has also obtained a court order to recover the Bulawayo party offices that had been taken over by the Tshabangu camp.

There has been a dispute over the party offices among Tshabangu, Mwonzora and a faction aligned to former CCC leader Nelson Chamisa for some months now.

Tshabangu said they would discuss the matter further within their organs.

“We obtained a court order to evict Nelson Chamisa and the Blue Movement. The MDC has apparently also obtained a similar order and have effected it.

“We will discuss the matter as the organs of the CCC. I will also consult president Welshman Ncube about reaching out to them to discuss the way forward regarding this matter,” he said.

Tshabangu said their thrust was to move towards internal democracy, adding that they were very clear on the issue of creating employment in the country.

“From the onset, I have been very clear about the question of unemployment. Our Parliament oversight machinery is calibrated towards making the government accountable in that regard.

“Our decisions regarding all the political decisions will be made taking into account the need to create a conducive environment for creating economic stability and employment creation in our nation,” Tshabangu said.

However, the offices, which once belonged to the MDC led by the late Morgan Tsvangirai, later to the MDC Alliance before the CCC took control and were repainted blue in February this year.

The Blue Movement has been associated with Chamisa’s yet to be launched political party after he lost control of the CCC.

The offices were also recently repainted in red with Mwonzora’s face emblazoned on the party building.

MDC spokesperson Lloyd Damba said the offices were the party’s property under a company called Lamphone Investment that was formed several years ago.
