Zimbabwe Welcomes First Group of Polish Tourists

Zimbabwe welcomed a maiden group of nine tourists from Poland yesterday in a development expected to strengthen tourism cooperation between the country and Eastern Europe.

The tourists were received through a Meet-and-Greet ceremony organised by the Ministry of Tourism and Hospitality Industry in partnership with the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA).

In a statement, the Ministry of Tourism and Hospitality Industry said the arrival of the Polish tourists symbolised Zimbabwe’s rich heritage and renowned hospitality.

“The maiden group of nine Polish tourists was warmly welcomed in Zimbabwe through a Meet-and-Greet ceremony, symbolising the country’s rich heritage and renowned hospitality,” the ministry said.

The tourists are expected to spend more than a week in the country, a move officials say marks a significant milestone in broadening Zimbabwe’s tourism markets beyond traditional source regions.

“Their stay in the country runs over a week period, marking a significant step in strengthening tourism linkages between Zimbabwe and Eastern Europe,” the ministry noted.

Government said the visit forms part of broader efforts to position Zimbabwe as a premium tourism destination offering authentic and high-value travel experiences.

“The visit, facilitated by the Ministry of Tourism and Hospitality Industry through the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority in partnership with TRIPYOU, reflects a strategic drive to position Zimbabwe as a premium destination for authentic, high-value travel experiences,” the ministry added.

The ministry expressed appreciation to the Polish tour operator for helping open up the Eastern European market to Zimbabwe’s tourism sector.

“The Ministry extends its sincere gratitude to TRIPYOU for the partnership and commitment in opening up this important market,” the statement said.

During their visit, the tourists will tour Harare and also experience wildlife conservation activities at Imire Game Park.

According to the ministry, the itinerary combines the vibrancy of Harare with immersive conservation tourism experiences.

“Their itinerary combines the vibrancy of Harare with an immersive conservation experience at Imire Game Park, offering close encounters with rhino and elephant conservation initiatives, as well as meaningful community interaction,” the ministry said.

Zimbabwe has in recent years intensified efforts to diversify its tourism markets and attract high-spending international visitors through destination marketing campaigns, strategic partnerships and improved travel experiences.
