Zimbabwe International Trade Fair kicks off with global business focus

The 66th edition of the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair has begun, with organisers positioning the event as a strategic platform to deepen global business linkages and attract high-value investment.

“All is set for the opening of the 66th edition of the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair,” organisers said, as final preparations intensified at the Zimbabwe International Exhibition Centre.

This year’s edition is firmly focused on expanding international partnerships and showcasing innovation-driven industries.

In the build-up to opening day, the exhibition centre has been a hive of activity, with contractors and designers working against tight deadlines to complete exhibition stands. The sounds of “hammers, drills and grinders” have echoed through the halls as teams raced to finalise installations.

Contractors said the transformation is nearly complete, with one noting they are “putting final touches to ensure everything is ready for opening day.”

Another highlighted that “significant effort has gone into redesigning stands to align with this year’s theme,” while exhibitors confirmed they remain “on track and within schedule.”

For more than six decades, the trade fair has remained Zimbabwe’s premier international business showcase, serving as a gateway for investment, trade partnerships and market expansion across key sectors.

This year’s event is already generating strong interest, particularly in technology and industrial innovation. One exhibitor said they expect “advanced technologies that can support industries such as mining and manufacturing.”

Another described rising momentum at the venue, citing “growing traffic and strong business prospects.”

Exhibitors also underscored the commercial value of the fair, with one stating: “We come here mainly to generate business and build lasting connections,” while others pointed to its role in strengthening regional and continental trade ties.
