Croc’s stomach reveals horrific remains of Binga fisherman

BODY parts were discovered in the stomach of a crocodile that was shot and killed after attacking and killing a Binga fisherman

BODY parts were discovered in the stomach of a crocodile that was shot and killed after attacking and killing a Binga fisherman, Jethro Moyo, at Lake Kariba’s Chikuyu fishing camp last week.

The discovered remains included lungs, liver, part of the intestines and a shoe, which belonged to the victim.

According to Trust Munkuli, a colleague of the deceased, the incident occurred on Wednesday evening at around 7pm.

Munkuli said he had gone to collect fish for supper and heard a loud scream, only to see a float of crocodiles when he rushed back to investigate.

The community searched for Moyo using a small boat, but could not find anything.

The next day, Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority (ZimParks) rangers shot one of the crocodiles, which started vomiting human flesh.

The remains were then recovered and taken to Binga Mortuary, where they await repatriation to Jotsholo for burial.

However, relatives of the deceased expressed concern over the functionality of Binga Mortuary, which has not been in operation for years.

Meanwhile, a well-wisher, Richard Muleya, took in the victim’s family, as they awaited the deceased’s remains.

“I felt pity after hearing them say they would stay at a public transport area, so I decided to take them to my place until the day they remove the remains for burial,” Muleya, who is a resident of Manyanga area, said.
