
GWANDA April 1 (NewsDay Live)- The Zimbabwe Mining Safety Health Environmental Council (Zimshec has described the death of Insiza legislator and miner Farai Taruvinga as a huge loss to the sector and the people of Matabeleland South province as a whole.
Taruvinga died at his Hillside home in Bulawayo on Sunday after a long battle with cancer.
He was 53.
Taruvinga operated several gold mines in the province where he employed hundreds of workers.
Zimshec director Philimon Mokuele said Taruvinga practiced responsible mining and ensured there was minimum damage to the environment.
