BULAWAYO, March 7, (NewsDayLive)- A police officer from an elite unit of detectives in Bulawayo was allegedly shot dead while pursuing armed robbery suspects on Thursday, NewsDayLive has learnt.
National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi identified the deceased as Constable Cassandra Hove of CID Homicide, Bulawayo. Hove was part of the female-only Team Lozikeyi unit.
"The shooting incident occurred at Harbek area, Pumula South, Bulawayo,” Nyathi said.
“The Commissioner-General of Police Stephen Mutamba expresses condolences to the Hove family and assures the public that comprehensive investigations are underway with a view of establishing what actually transpired.”
