HARARE, Feb. 27 (NewsDay Live) - Alpha Media Holdings (AMH) senior journalist Blessed Mhlanga is back in court on Thursday afternoon for bail ruling.
Mhlanga was detained on Monday after he handed himself to the Law and Order section at Harare Central Police Station.
He appeared in court the following day on two counts of inciting public violence. The matter was remanded to today for bail ruling, which the State is opposing saying Mhlanga may interfere with investigations or commit a similar offence.
The State alleges that on two separate dates this year, Mhlanga broadcast content from a Press conference addressed by firebrand war veteran and Zanu PF central committee member Blessed “Bombshell” Geza.
The content was broadcast on AMH's terrestrial television, HSTV.
AMH are the publishers of NewsDay, The Standard, and Zimbabwe Independent.
In the broadcast, Geza called on President Emmerson Mnangagwa to resign over grand corruption among a cocktail of other misdeeds.
Mhlanga is being represented by prominent lawyer Chris Mhike.
